Charlie Black was raised in Chicago, Illinois and has been painting and drawing since his early childhood. Raised in Chicago, he spent many summers with grandparents in Walnut Grove, Mississippi. A husband and father, Black paints to express himself and chronicle his view of life. He uses pastels, watercolors, and stained glass and wields a vibrant palette of intense colors.
